BEWARE:
Ok, I was in the market to make a sizeable purchase of bobblehead dolls for my upcoming wedding. I wanted to buy one for each of my groomsmen. Something special like this only happens 1 time in a life so I wanted to choose the best company to make my dolls.
I went to the internet and found a few companies who were professional, shown photos of their work and even provided testimonials from actual clients. Making the decision seemed easy to say the least.
I then came across a site called: bobbleheadme.com.
The few items I noticed was the photos on this site seem to be the same from some of the other websites I was speaking with. My thought was I imagine it is all the same manufacturer, But I was incorrect.
On this site, a chat window came up and I decided how wonderful, let me ask some questions and obtain the information I needed to make my decision.
Here is the actual text from our conversation. The > is my actual question to this company, Mike P. is their representative. The red areas are the ones that struck me insane to think this was a real company who claimes they are the largest.
>what are they made of?
Mike P. : Clay
>what type of clay
Mike P. : Polyresin
>are they soft or hard to break
Mike P. : Hard to break. Our clay is very good quality.
>how come I see so many dolls on your site the same as other sites? Are all the companies the same?
Mike P. : No we have no affiliation.
>then why are they the same photos
>what work is yours
Mike P. : We have been provided images by our manufacturer.
>do you have actual sample photos
Mike P. : You can order and view a sample of your own work.
>but Id rather first see your work before making this commitment
Mike P. : We do not have any images to show you.
>are you kidding?
>how is this possible
Mike P. : Im sorry. I currently dont have any images.
>do you have any customers?
>dont you see the work you provide to them
Mike P. : That I cannot disclose.
>this seems like a scam if you ask me. I been trying to obtain info for my wedding party - 6 groomsman and all the companies show their work with no trouble but your price is very low to others, now I see why - can you advise me why I would want to buy from your site
Mike P. : If you do not see our company fit for your needs then I suggest choosing another company. I am sad you feel that way.
>why would I not - you are offering nothing
>this is on your site: BobbleHeadMe.com is the biggest and most experienced manufacturer How do you feel this is true if you can not even share any photos with me?
Mike P. : Are you interested in bobble heads or something else?
--- needless to say this went no where fast.
To take items further, on the top of their website it shows they are Better Business accredited - which means the BBB recognizes them for being legitimate - well, I went to the BBB website, found they are not accredited and I made a claim against them as well.
On further looking, all the seals on this site are simply cut and paste, on all the other sites, when you click on a seal for BBB or secure site info, it takes you to the proper site which validates that the actual site is official.
If you ask me, this says it all. I imagine once I send my money to this company - I would not receive the doll contracted - they might say they can not disclose that. Buyer Beware, all the items on this site can be found at:
www.headbobble.com
www.bobblemaker.com
It is obvious from these websites, who the professional manufacturers are..need I say more. You get what you pay for - On this site, they show a building and an address, if you research this you will find it is another company at this location. It may be theirs but anyone in Texas - go check it out, bet the photo is bogas also.
